DR KEIR McCUTCHEON
BSc (Hons), MSc, MBBCh, FCP (SA), Cert. Cardiol. (SA), FRCP (UK), PhD. Cardiologist specialized in Percutaneous Coronary Interventions.
Dr Keir McCutcheon completed his undergraduate studies and post-graduate training in internal medicine and cardiology in Johannesburg in 2012.
He then worked as a consultant cardiologist in Johannesburg for 3 years before moving overseas for further training. He completed a 2-year fellowship in interventional cardiology in the University Hospitals, Leuven, Belgium.
Following this he remained in Leuven as a consultant interventional cardiologist until 2021, when he moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK. After 18 months in the NHS, he could not resist an invitation to move with his wife and two daughters to Namibia.
In addition to general cardiology, he is particularly interested in the percutaneous management of patients with coronary artery disease, including acute percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), complex PCI and interventions for chronic total occlusions, coronary microvascular function, renal artery denervation for the treatment of resistant hypertension and the effects of HIV on the heart.
